My Prayer Intentions for the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Dear Friend in Christ,

It was a time of great national distress in France — following the Revolution of 1830 — when Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Labouré, revealed her Miraculous Medal, and told St. Catherine, “Come to the foot of the altar. There graces will be shed upon all who ask for them.”

It was a time of great international distress in 1917 — during World War I — when the Blessed Mother appeared at Fatima and told the children Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta to, “Pray the Rosary every day to bring peace to the world.”

When we are at our greatest need, Our Blessed Mother calls us to prayer. She wants us to ask for her help. Please join your Rosary to mine as a lovely gift that will rise to heaven and call down God’s graces on our families and world.

When you send me your prayer intentions, I pray you will also include an urgently-needed financial gift.

If you are blessed with the ability to do so at this time, send your generous, tax-deductible gift right away.

Mary’s Shrine hasn’t been spared from the economic devastation we’re seeing across the nation. Keeping our Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal open to the faithful is difficult in the best of times. I and my fellow Vincentians continue to celebrate Mass and pray for you every day. But it is especially painful in these trying economic times to keep this holy place open.

YES, Father Lyons, I want to help you bring Mary’s Miraculous Medal “to the whole world and to every person” as Our Lady requested — and assist the Vincentians in their charitable works to aid the poor and downtrodden in our communities. Please accept my tax-deductible gift:

You will be redirected to our secure online donation processing page to complete your donation.

We rely on the support of pilgrims visiting the Basilica Shrine, and our visitor numbers are down. Many members of Mary’s Miraculous Medal Family have been facing economic hardships of their own.

We are still facing significant cuts to our ability to fulfill our mission.

That’s why, if you can, I urgently need your help to carry out the Blessed Virgin’s request to bring her Miraculous Medal “to the whole world and to every person.”

And I need your help to assist our Vincentian Family in their charitable works to aid the poorest of the poor in our communities — the hungry, the sick, and the oppressed who are suffering.

In these troubled times, the Miraculous Medal and Rosary are greatly needed. Through them, and with Mary’s powerful intercession, people are healed, families are strengthened, and people are brought back to the Church and the Mass.

The Miraculous Medal and the Rosary bring us together as one spiritual family — with Mary as our Mother. Perhaps you or family members are among those who urgently need Our Lady’s healing Rays of Grace ...

So please, won’t you join me in honoring Our Lady, Mary Immaculate, on her birthday by doing what she asks of us and come to her in prayer? Unite your Rosary to mine on this special day. And please send me your prayer intentions by September 8th so they may be placed at the foot of Mary's Altar at the Shrine.

Finally, when you return your prayer intentions, I pray you can send a generous gift of $25, $40, $50, or more to support our important work at Mary’s Shrine .

Be assured of my prayers and those of all the Vincentian Fathers and Brothers. May God bless you always.

Gratefully Yours in Mary Immaculate,
Rev. Timothy V. Lyons, C.M.
