Dear Friend in Christ,

I thank God for YOU and your previous support as a Member of Mary’s Miraculous Medal Family. Because of you, we recently celebrated our elevation to a Minor Basilica.

Declaring the Miraculous Medal Shrine a Minor Basilica is a testimony to the Holy Spirit operating here, the grace of our Blessed Mother, her motherly care for us, and an acknowledgment of its spiritual and architectural significance. It is, even more so, an invitation for all the faithful to continue to dedicate their lives to the work of the Gospel, to a life of prayer, and to reach out to those in need — making ourselves available to be used for the spiritual or material needs of others.

When you support our Basilica Shrine by becoming a member, you also help us reach out from Mary’s Shrine to spread devotion to Our Blessed Mother so that those who are suffering can receive Mary’s Rays of Grace — and receive hope in these challenging times.

Your prayers, joined together with the prayers of Mary’s Miraculous Medal Family around the world, help bring about physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. I know this because I hear it time and time again.

Every day, notes expressing gratitude to the Blessed Mother are received here at the Shrine …

... “I was so scared and afraid and racked with anxiety, but praise God all of my prayers were answered and everything worked out well.”
… “I don’t know why I, a Protestant, am so blessed by the Catholic faith and my Catholic friends, I am very grateful for my Miraculous Medal, and I don’t feel so alone because it is with me.”
… “When I was in the hospital with pneumonia, I prayed and asked Jesus Christ to heal me through our Blessed Mother, and my prayers were answered.”

As a faithful member of Mary’s Miraculous Medal Family, you make it possible for the anxious, the sick, the poor, and the downtrodden to find solace and solutions in Our Blessed Mother. You also support the Vincentians’ charitable programs for the underprivileged, the homeless, the elderly, and at-risk youth. You make this holy work possible. And I don’t know what we would do without you!

Each year at this time we issue new membership cards and ask you to renew your commitment to the Mother of God as a Member of her Miraculous Medal Family before our new year begins on August 15 — the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

So, before our new membership year begins on August 15, please renew your annual membership with your gift of $40. And, because we rely on your support to fund our holy work, if you are able to send an additional offering, I pray that you will.

Then, keep an eye out in the mail for your new Miraculous Medal and your copy of The Message magazine. These thank-you gifts are sent to you with my deepest gratitude and with the hope that they will deepen your devotion to Mary and your friendship with all of us at her Shrine.
