God Bless you and your family and I hope you are well and enjoying many blessings.
As we near the end of our fiscal year, I must ask you to prayerfully consider helping us make up a budget shortfall caused by the severe financial impact that inflation and shutdowns due to Covid-19 have had on the income of your Miraculous Medal Shrine.
And with conflicts around the world, like in Ukraine, God’s children desperately need the graces, hope, and love provided by Mary’s Miraculous Medal.
Mary’s Miraculous Medal Shrine, the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, me, and my fellow Vincentian priests and brothers of the Eastern Province need you today more than ever. High gas prices, inflation, and economic hardship caused by shutdowns due to Covid-19 variants have led to a significant decrease in the number of visitors and Mass attendees at Mary’s Shrine.
As a result, donations are down at a time when the need for us to continue to provide for our brothers and sisters is rising. And if we don’t make up this shortfall, I fear that we may have to begin cutting back our hours and some of our programs!
Even now, as the Faithful are becoming more confident in visiting public places, we are still not yet close to receiving the normal pre-pandemic numbers of visitors to the Shrine.

These are terribly difficult times for so many. But, thanks be to God, you and I share our devotion to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal to get us through. Our Mother Mary is there when we come to her with our worries and struggles. She heals us and fills us with hope in these dark times. The Blessed Mother wraps us in her love and bestows us with her graces.
St. Catherine Labouré, the one to whom Our Lady gave the Miraculous Medal, knew the great blessings that can come to the world through devotion to the Miraculous Medal. Having lost her own mother at the tender age of 9, Catherine was no stranger to heartbreak and suffering. As the ninth of 11 children, Catherine was left with the responsibility of caring for the household.
At 24 years of age, she entered the novitiate of the Daughters of Charity. While a novice, Catherine was visited by the Blessed Mother, given the design for the Miraculous Medal, and told to spread devotion to Our Lady and her medal.
As a member of Mary’s Miraculous Medal Family, you know the power of the medal and the power of prayer.
You know that Our Lady loves all of her children and showers blessings on those who come to her.
At Mary’s Shrine, stories of Mary’s intercessions are familiar. We hear hundreds of stories of faith re-ignited, families reunited, the sick healed, and the alcohol and drug-addicted freed. In-person or online and through our programs that aid the most vulnerable among us — the poor, the elderly, and the marginalized — we see miracles happen.
Now, we need a miracle of our own. Is Our Lady stirring in your heart the desire to help us with a gift today? I pray that she is.
